Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful.
Salam Readers :)
I've been 'missing' for a week and was kinda surprised that some of my friends were actually looking for me. Pelik ni. tak penah plak diorang nak cari before this. Skali i tak online for 6 days, semua p carik. aik? Demam rindu ape korang? ekeke. Yeah, i didn't tell them where i went. Ye la, biasanye takde plak yang nak sebok cari. So i thought takyah la nak bagitau kan kann. Skali bukak facebook, hah! ambik kau nyah.
Well, i was actually away for a one week vacation to Indonesia. 2 days in Jakarta and 4 days in Bandung. Actual mission: Shopping and bargain for kain raya and clothes! before i went further into my stories in Indonesia, let me tell u a bit about my story in KL. haha. No2, lets start with Kuching :)
it was a day before my departure to KL (8june). Lalalalala~ The time shows 4.15pm and i was doing some packing. And.. haaa.. part climax jalan citer i on that day is my passport! tu laa 1st time i bukak my passport after my last trip to Singapore a year ago. all this while, dengan muke sposen (murahnyeeee!) ok fine.. dengan muka lima posen i p cakap jek kat my parents that my passport is still valid. skali i bukak passport and tengok expiry date, terasa macam nak mintak kene telan batu belah batu bertangkup! The expiry date is november 2011 and it is stated in the book regulation that it can't be used 6 month before the expiry date. i froze. And yeah, i'm dead meat! Bayangkan esok nak fly to kl n the next day is my flight to jakarta. Dah la plan trip dari last year g. i started to panic! kalau i tak dpt pegi terjun katil i lepas tu. To make the story short, lepas kene lecture PaMa, last2 problem solved. Rupenye boleh je renew kat mana2 imigresen throughtout Malaysia. It only takes an hour -.-
So the next day after arriving Putra station, cousin bee took us to Putrajaya to settle my passport and in less than an hour, my passport was renewed! *happy*.

In the transit otw to Putrajaya.

The message says it all..

..And he's caught on cousin elle's camera! aha! Nuff said.
Lepas tu we went back to Cheras, have some lunch (Mak G masakkkk! Lama xjmpa Mak G. Rinduuuuu!) and around 11pm aunty sherry drove us to uncle leman's house at TTDI coz nak anta Yna n Fikri.
i malas nak explain ppanjang bout KL, so lets go straight to the main topic. Here are the daily report of our activities:
JAKARTA:
Day 1 (June 10)
Arrived Sukarno-Hatta Airport around 1pm and arrived hotel (MaxOne) at 2pm Indonesia (3pm Malaysia). We hop on an Avanza. Rp. 200,000 for a 1 hour trip to the hotel.
The hotel was small, cozy and very modern. Part yang takleh blah is that the front desk counter was using an Apple desktop! Malaysia's 5 star hotel pon xpakai Apple desktop lagi! Nie hotel 2 star jek. hah! What more can i say? hehe. The interior is full of colourful art. Even dalam lift. bayangkan, the lift was a touch screen! Maju tak maju? All the room number was placed on the floor. Memang modern ah this hotel. Malaysia, biler nak buat satu? :p
The interior
The elevator! Very artistic hotel
Inside the elevator
Jakarta was full of Toyota users on the road. Even the blue bird taxi was a toyota. Do not underestimate Indonesia. Diorang maju ok. Dah la semua penduduk sana semua gne Blackberry, tak kire kaya or tak. Anyways, only me, bee and aunty sherry took this morning flight. Cousin elle and mum each went on a 6pm and 10pm flight. Sian diorang kene stay kat airport the whole day. At 3pm, the 3 of us took a tutut, a small transportation (combination of a motorcycle and a trishaw which makes a sound like enjin sampan.
Tutut! Can only fit 3 person. Rp. 20,000 from our Hotel to Grand Indo
I don't fancy riding a tutut because u'll be inhaling all the exhaust on the road and that is so tak sehat! But since my aunty and cousin wanted so much to try on one, so naik je la. i've been to Jakarta before so penah la naik tutut. Ya Allah, diorang yang bawak tutut nie memang r. Jalan raya tu macam bapak dia yang punya! buat u-turn pon sukahati dia jek. Semua drivers kat sana drive dekat2 to each other, selit sana sini in which kalo kat Malaysia, mau nye dah kene hon, accident, gaduh or calar kete. Kat sana even though diorang drive camtu, tapi semua kete diorang free of scratch okie! Salute r kat diorang. Kalo aku confirm2 fail drive kat indon tu ha. Jalan raya yang untuk satu kete je pon boleh jalan 2 kete. haishh.
We went to Grand Indonesia since i want to have a look of that huge shopping complex. The stuff were all expensive. Even MNG is much cheaper in malaysia. ye la, grand Indo kan. Other shopping mall xde a mahal sangat.
We have our lunch at the foodcourt and it's kinda costly. i ordered Mee goreng pattaya and asked them to bungkus in a chinese takeway- in a box! Padahal i makan situ je. hehe. I always watched western movies ordered chinese and eat them out from the box and slalu wish nak satu. Ahhh. finally, i get one. Hehehehehehehe.
My takeaway chinese. hehe. Happy giloss. But the food was a bit expensive. standard harga order makanan kat hotel je -.-
After lunch we went window shopping around and found Anne Avanti boutique! A famous Indonesian wedding dress designer.
At 4pm, we took a cab to Tanah Abang. Cousin bee and aunty sherry jadi giler kejap tengok all the kaftan, kain n baju semua murah2. But since we all nak shopping in Bandung, kitorang kene tahan laa nafsu nak beli kaftan semua kat Jakarta dengan harapan tinggi menggunung barang kat bandung lagi banyak lawa. ye la, dah semua orang cakap bandung lagi banyak n best shopping.
At 7pm, we head back to the hotel using a tutut. Around 2am, cousin bee and mum arrived hotel, exhausted.
* Likes:
- The food! U won't regret ever trying any of their food.
- Toilets are cleannnnn! I'm very skeptical when it comes to toilet. i nie penggeli. Tengok bentuk mangkuk tandas je pon dah geli. Kat sana, Even public toilets dia sangat clean. Padahal populasi di sana lagi ramai than Malaysia.
* Dislike:
- Very chaotic
- Air pollution. Semua gne Diesel ke haa??
- Sound pollution with all the unbearable honking! *Pening!* Thank God Malaysia is more civilize and proper.
Day 2 (June 11)
Aunty sherry's old friend, Aunty Rozie had promised to spend the whole day with us. She's a Sarawakian but lives in jakarta since her husband was an Indonesian engineer. She arrived at our hotel around 10am, drove by her personal driver.
Our first destination was to Gambir Station to buy our train tickets for tomorrow's trip to Bandung. Then we head to Tanah Abang and shop for lace and cotton.
Me and bee bought a pink Schworfsky crystal which i love so much.
See how crowded it was in Tanah Abang?
After borong kain at tanah Abang, we went back to the hotel nak simpan barang n then off to ITC Kuningan at 6pm and shop again. For me, ITC was better than Tanah Abang because u don't have to squeeze yourself in the crowd plus u still can bargain for low prices! The shops are more organized and sedap mata memandang. Then ada fast food and supermarket. The only thing that Tanah Abang and ITC tak leh blah is that the people can freely smoke in the fully air-conditioned building. Tak pahamm!
At 8pm, we went to have dinner at Pizza Hut. Ok, i know it's only Pizza Hut but u should have a try. Murah n sedap! Seriously! More variety on the menu and very different from Malaysia.
Aunty Rozie said that they changed the menu very often (ya, unlike Pizza Hut Malaysia yang tukar menu 2 taun skali -.-) Oh ya, before going to Pizza Hut, we bought a box of Mochi2, a japannese rice cake. i love them! Very chewy.
At 9pm, Aunty Rozie called her driver and drove us to her house. Her house was big, very spacious and beautiful. I love her landscape very much! Lawa okie! Very Indonesian
BANDUNG
Day 1 (June 12)
It's the day for us to head to bandung and we have our breakfast at Gambir station.
Arrived Bandung around 2pm. meaning, we've wasted half of the day in the train. Should have gone for the 9am train.

The weather in Bandung is just nice. It's cool and dry compared to jakarta. We checked in our hotel and went off to Pasar baru. As we arrived there, we're really2 disappointed. Seriously, we put too much hope on bandung. it didn't turned out as we expected. Not a sight of nice kaftan anywhere and the bajus pun tak sebest jakarta. and i was hoping to find Schworfsky crystal at Bandung but failed. I really want the crystal coz kat indon murah jek. Kalo malaysia, maunye sampai rm50 sepeket kecik tu. Ahhh! Aunty Rozie was right. Everyone wants to head back to jakarta. tsk tsk..
Around 3, we drop off to Paris Van Java which looks very exclusive. It was a nice and cozy place for chilling and relaxing with an European style architecture. We thought things were expensive there but mum (whom we left at Paris Van Java to go to spa) said that the stuff was not pricy. menyesal plak tak masuk jalan2. We then walk to Rumah Mode (They pronounced it 'Mo-Der') from Paris Van Java since orang yang jaga ticket kat Paris Van java tu cakap dekat jerrr, jalan kaki pon boleh. Banyak la hang!! Punye la jauh kitorang jalan. Maunye stgh jam. heh! 2 kali dah kene tipu ni. the day before same gak. diorang cakap hotel dekat je dgn station. bleh jalan kaki jer. durh! baik naik teksi. da la xde proper pedestrian walk.
Rumah Mode cantik. Architectural design dia ala2 bali. Sampai2 je tros kitorang belek2 baju. Everything there was full of branded stuff such as Victoria's Secret, AX (Armani Exchange), Zara, Bum, Guess, Polo, Hugo Boss, Burberry, Minimal Me, Baby Phat and many more at factory outlet price of course. It's really worth while to buy branded clothes at Rumah Mode. I bought a knitted purple sleeveless cardigan and a gray baby T Guess to wear the next day since i only bought 3 clothes. At 7pm, we stopped for a while and had our dinner. i love the Nasi Goreng. sedapp! After dinner we went to the next FOS, Mode Plus and The Fashion Outlet. Not much of a choice anyway plus a bit boring and expensive than Rumah Mode. No wonder takde orang sangat :p
Rumah Mode:

The dinner! Superb!
* Likes:
- The weather. niceeeee.
- The food! I guess Indonesian people are very talented chef.
* Dislike:
- Some of the people talk rudely to us. kalau kita cakap tak nak, buat jugak. heshh. just because kitorang tak nak beli barang diorang, kitorang plak kene marah n sumpah. Sumpah laaa. dah menyumpah ape korang dapat? Dosa je bertimbun. Dah la ske giler nak pow foreigners lagi2 kalo diorang tau ur from Malaysia. Ingat kitorang ni cop duit? Ketuk ssorang kang!
Day 2 (June 13)
To Pasar baru again to buy some kain. This time i bought cotton for my kurung. Around 4, we took a cab to Rumah Mode again. We had our lunch (lunch at 4??) before starting off to buy some stuff.

We head back to our hotel at 9am and around 10pm the tailor (Seruni) that we dealt with at Pasar baru that morning came personally to our hotel to take our measurement. Overall, she have like 30 kain to be tailored within a month and shipped it back to us before raya. i do hope my lace turned out cantik.

Then we went to Cihampelas Walk coz me and cousin bee wants to go to The Little Things She Needs. As we arrived, it was raining cats and dogs. The shop was more or less macam Cotton On. We went to have our dinner before going into ChiWalk.

All four of us went to the saloon except for Bee. The saloon was quite cheap and i loveeee the way they blow my hair. Mum went for hair treatment, pedicure and manicure. i bought 2 pair of shoes from Colette- a black leopard print pump shoes and a cute brown rubber shoes (rubber shoes ka we called it? :p).
Day 4 (June 15)
it was our last day in bandung. Our flight was at 12.20 pm. After packing all of our stuff, we went to kartika Sari for the last time to buy some brownies and then off to Husein Sastranegara Airport. Even thought i love the cool weather in Bandung and all the cheap stuff, i really can't wait to be back to Malaysia. We arrived safely at LCCT at 4pm and uncle bon came to picked us up. Glad to be back! I still love u, Malaysia!
My overall conclusion:
If u want to shop for kain, kaftan, casual wear, footwear, gem stone, beads and accessories, it is advisable to shop in Jakarta, not Bandung. More variety.
Places to shop: Tanah Abang, Mangga Dua, ITC Kuningan.
If ur into branded stuff, i suggest u go to Bandung. They have tons of factory outlet that u can go.
Recommend: Rumah Mode. U can also try and go to Dago.
If u want to chill around in Bandung, go to Paris Van Java. Have a trip to Tangkuban Perahu and kolam air panas.
P/S: Am only recommending the place that i know and the one that i've been to. If u guys have any more suggestion, do not hesitate to share with me ya :)
